be back in the classrooms today after reaching a deal with the school district to end the seven day teachers strike. members of the oakland education association voted to accept the contract from the school district. teachers lined up at the paramount theater to vote on the districts deal yesterday. the union e district have been negotiating for the past two years. teachers were demanding higher wagers, smaller class sizes and more resources. wearing. the victim was treated for serious injuries to her face, but is expected to be ok. (robin) a woman is dead after police say she lost control of her car and crashed on highway 101. it happened saturday afternoon just south of the central san rafael exit. police say she lost control and drifted into the center divider...and then back across all northbound lanes before hitting a guard rail. the woman, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital where she died. police belive rain may be a factor in the crash. a passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.
